IT’S ALL IN YOUR HEAD!

IT’S ALL IN YOUR HEAD
Teenager, have you ever been told that? “It’s all in your head”. I have got to agree…IT’S ALL IN YOUR HEAD!

Specifically, we all have troubling thoughts that enter our mind. Thoughts such as, “God doesn’t love me”… “The Church doesn’t care about me”… “I can’t be used by God”… “They don’t like me”… “I will never be loved by anyone”… “I’m stupid”… “I can’t do anything right”… etc. I could go on and on, but, you get the idea. I want to tell you that you are not the only one who thinks these things and so much more which are just not true. To borrow the words from the great encouraging song, “We’re on a battlefield, Brother, not a recreation room. We’re in a fight and it’s not a game…”

1 Thessalonians 5:23, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Psalms 55:18, “He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.” The battle takes place in the soul of man. Notice the chart

The Soul is the mind, emotions and will of man. This is where the Devil attacks us.
What we think will affect our emotions. Our emotions will affect our will…what we do, or how we react.
When you think someone is angry with you, your emotions may ignite you into being sad, or even upset at them. Whatever you are feeling (emotions) will determine if you will confront them and ask them what their problem is with you, or you may retreat into depression wondering, “What did I do?” Your thoughts will affect how you feel, and how you feel will affect what you do.

Jeremiah 4:14, “…How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?” We cannot stop the thoughts from coming into our mind, but, we sure can stop them from lodging within us. As one notable preacher put it, “You can’t stop a bird from landing on your head, but you can keep him from building a nest in your hair.”pulling-down-strongholds

2 Corinthians 10:3-5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

When you trust Christ as your personal Saviour, your spirit is quickened by the Spirit of God, Ephesians 2:1, “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;”

The Holy Spirit takes up residence in you, John 14:17, “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”
And your spirit is sealed, Ephesians 4:30, “And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”

The Soul of man is where all the battlement takes place. Teenager, your thoughts, your emotions, and your will is where the Enemy tempts, prods, accuses, lies, deceives, and tries to depress you. We need to be BATTLE READY!

2 Timothy 2:3, “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”
Ephesians 6:11-13, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.full-armour
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

The enemy is lionseeking whom he MAY devour. 1 Peter 5:8, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

May devour, indicates that he seeks permission to devour you. Don’t give place to him!
Ephesians 4:27, “Neither give place to the devil.”

If you are SAVED, the Devil has no legal right to try and take ground from you. Through living your life in a casual, leisurely manner of Christianity, you can open doors, and invite the Devil to take ground from you. Keep doors shut, and shut tight. If you have opened doors to sins, close them through prayer and pleading the blood of Jesus Christ.
