Look how he Proverbs 31 Virtuous Woman is described:
Proverbs 31:13, "She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard."
Proverbs 31:18, "She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff."
Far beyond the fact that she is not lazy, she is a worker. She has worked in real estate, merchandising, fashion, horticulture, farming, culinary arts, and much more. We believe The Bible...the WHOLE Bible.
A wife should be a Keeper at Home 1 Timothy 5:14, "I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully."
Titus 2:3, "The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."
A Keeper is one who looks after something or sombody. As Webster's Dictionary of 1828 defines: One who has the care, custody or superintendence of any thing.
Her laboring in Proverbs 31 is in view of her home , children, and husband. She is working within the home as well as without the home to bring care and oversight of the home. It's really a beautiful thing to behold a woman who keeps her focus in view of why she is doing what she does.
