LIVING OR LONELINESS
I selected this title to provoke us to think about it. Some readily announce that they Live IN Loneliness. At the risk of sounding like I am making a “play” on words…if you are “living” in loneliness, you really are not living. Christ promised us life more abundantly.
John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
A person may live alone, but, they do not have to experience loneliness. The devil gave Eve some company in the Garden, and that didn’t turn out well. A very notable person stated once, “If you do not learn how to live alone, you will live a life of loneliness”
The cure for loneliness is Christ Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. With Him you are never alone. He promised in Hebrews 13:5, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
This week, we will explore lessons for loneliness.
